About the Campaign
The Latse Scholarship Program helps to put access to higher learning within reach of
Tibetans living on the Tibetan plateau. Students push the limits of what they can achieve
when they are given the opportunity to participate in a learning environment that will
challenge them and equip them with the skills and knowledge to make a difference back
in their community.
The transmission of this knowledge to others in their own communities is at the very core
of Latse’s vision.
Latse’s Scholarship Program is based in part on established relationships with some colleges and universities in collaborative partnership. Currently we have two established scholarships with partners:
Masters in Education (M.Ed.) in Environmental Education, Center for
Environmental Policy, Bard College
Because of rapid changes on the Tibetan plateau, environmental research and
studies are critical. The Center for Environmental Policy at Bard College is
committed to working with Latse in offering a scholarship in Environmental
Studies, and cost-sharing tuition and related costs.
Scholarship for Women’s Empowerment / Masters in Sustainable
International Development, Heller School for Social Policy and Management,
The Scholarship for Women’s Empowerment in conjunction with Brandeis
University enables Tibetan women to gain the skills and knowledge to become
leaders and to enact meaningful social change in their communities.
