The eyes of Dzi

May 18 @ 6:00 pm EDT

On April 20, we invite you to Bring Your Own Dzi! ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་གཟི་སྣོམས་ཕེབས་ཤོག

What are the different kind of dzi? Do you know how to tell a real dzi bead from a fake one?
We are inviting two experts for an opportunity to learn about the precious stone of Tibet, so rare and unique that they have become one of the most sought-after and collectible stones on earth.
Tsangwang Gendun Tenpa, deputy director and chief curator of the Dargye Himalayan Art and Culture Museum in Chengdu, and Mark Kenoyer, archaeologist and Professor of Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, join us for a special program featuring presentations and dzi bead exhibit, and will help us to identify authentic dzi. Audience members are also encouraged to bring their own dzi for examination.
